Australia in 2019: themes from the sky
These are broad themes for Australia through 2019, read the way mundane astrology reads a nation: from the chart cast when the Sun enters Mesha each year, from the country's founding chart and from the year's eclipses. They describe tendencies in public life, not fixed events.
Mundane readings here stay with themes and timing windows. They say nothing about any public figure and do not try to name particular events.
The year chart (Mesha Sankranti)
- Cast for
- Lagna
- Tula (Libra)
- Lord of the year chart
- Shukra (Venus) in house 5
The solar year began on 14 April 2019, when the Sun entered Mesha. In the chart cast for that moment at Canberra, Libra was rising.
Venus rules the rising sign and so sets the tone of the year's chart. It stands in the 5th house, which keeps education, the young, the arts, entertainment and the share markets in focus through the year.
Planets that stand out
Jupiter in the 3rd house brings growth, support and wider opportunity to communication, the media, transport links and dealings with neighbours.
Saturn in the 3rd house brings slow, patient work, tighter budgets and some delays to communication, the media, transport links and dealings with neighbours.
Moon in the 10th house brings shifting public mood and a focus on everyday needs to governance, institutions and the country's standing in the world.
