Australia in July 2025: themes from the sky
These are broad themes for Australia in July 2025, read from the chart cast when the Sun entered Mesha, from the country's founding chart and from any eclipse in the month. They describe tendencies in public life, not fixed events.
Mundane readings here stay with themes and timing windows. They say nothing about any public figure and do not try to name particular events.
The year chart (Mesha Sankranti)
- Cast for
- Lagna
- Mesha (Aries)
- Lord of the year chart
- Mangal (Mars) in house 4
The solar year began on 14 April 2025, when the Sun entered Mesha. In the chart cast for that moment at Canberra, Aries was rising.
Mars rules the rising sign and so sets the tone of the year's chart. It stands in the 4th house, which keeps land, housing, farming, the season's weather and the mood at home in focus through the year.
Planets that stand out
Sun in the 1st house brings attention from the authorities and a push for order to the country as a whole and the general mood of its people.
Jupiter in the 2nd house brings growth, support and wider opportunity to national wealth, reserves, food supply and the tone of public speech.
Moon in the 7th house brings shifting public mood and a focus on everyday needs to foreign relations, treaties and trading partners.
Saturn in the 12th house brings slow, patient work, tighter budgets and some delays to public spending, foreign investment, ports and work done out of sight.
The founding chart

Shani (Saturn)
Saturn is in Pisces: the 12th house from the founding chart's rising sign (public spending, foreign investment, ports and work done out of sight) and the 12th house from its Moon.
Saturn here tends to ask for patience, restructuring and careful budgets in these matters.
Guru (Jupiter)
Jupiter is in Gemini: the 3rd house from the founding chart's rising sign (communication, the media, transport links and dealings with neighbours) and the 3rd house from its Moon.
Jupiter here tends to support growth and sound planning in these matters.
Rahu
Rahu is in Aquarius: the 11th house from the founding chart's rising sign (lawmaking, alliances, gains and shared hopes) and the 11th house from its Moon.
Rahu here tends to stir new ideas and fresh ambitions, along with some uncertainty.
Ketu
Ketu is in Leo: the 5th house from the founding chart's rising sign (education, the young, the arts, entertainment and the share markets) and the 5th house from its Moon.
Ketu here tends to bring a review of old ways and a quieter, inward turn.
None of the slow planets changes sign in this period, so the themes above hold steady.
Planets changing sign
