Nepal in 2019: themes from the sky
These are broad themes for Nepal through 2019, read the way mundane astrology reads a nation: from the chart cast when the Sun enters Mesha each year, from the country's founding chart and from the year's eclipses. They describe tendencies in public life, not fixed events.
No founding chart is used for Nepal on this page, so it reads from the Mesha Sankranti chart cast for Kathmandu and from the eclipses.
Mundane readings here stay with themes and timing windows. They say nothing about any public figure and do not try to name particular events.
The year chart (Mesha Sankranti)
- Cast for
- Lagna
- Simha (Leo)
- Lord of the year chart
- Surya (Sun) in house 8
The solar year began on 14 April 2019, when the Sun entered Mesha. In the chart cast for that moment at Kathmandu, Leo was rising.
Sun rules the rising sign and so sets the tone of the year's chart. It stands in the 8th house, which keeps shared resources, taxes, insurance and sudden shifts in public finances in focus through the year.
Planets that stand out
Jupiter in the 5th house brings growth, support and wider opportunity to education, the young, the arts, entertainment and the share markets.
Saturn in the 5th house brings slow, patient work, tighter budgets and some delays to education, the young, the arts, entertainment and the share markets.
Venus in the 7th house brings comfort, the arts and easier agreements to foreign relations, treaties and trading partners.
Mars in the 10th house brings drive, quick decisions and some heat in debate to governance, institutions and the country's standing in the world.
The founding chart
No founding chart is read for this country: there is no agreed time for it, or it is older than the charts here can reach.
