Nepal in 2022: themes from the sky
These are broad themes for Nepal through 2022, read the way mundane astrology reads a nation: from the chart cast when the Sun enters Mesha each year, from the country's founding chart and from the year's eclipses. They describe tendencies in public life, not fixed events.
No founding chart is used for Nepal on this page, so it reads from the Mesha Sankranti chart cast for Kathmandu and from the eclipses.
Mundane readings here stay with themes and timing windows. They say nothing about any public figure and do not try to name particular events.
The year chart (Mesha Sankranti)
- Cast for
- Lagna
- Vrishabha (Taurus)
- Lord of the year chart
- Shukra (Venus) in house 10
The solar year began on 14 April 2022, when the Sun entered Mesha. In the chart cast for that moment at Kathmandu, Taurus was rising.
Venus rules the rising sign and so sets the tone of the year's chart. It stands in the 10th house, which keeps governance, institutions and the country's standing in the world in focus through the year.
Planets that stand out
Moon in the 4th house brings shifting public mood and a focus on everyday needs to land, housing, farming, the season's weather and the mood at home.
Saturn in the 9th house brings slow, patient work, tighter budgets and some delays to higher learning, beliefs, long-distance travel and trade far afield.
Mars in the 10th house brings drive, quick decisions and some heat in debate to governance, institutions and the country's standing in the world.
Jupiter in the 11th house brings growth, support and wider opportunity to lawmaking, alliances, gains and shared hopes.
The founding chart
No founding chart is read for this country: there is no agreed time for it, or it is older than the charts here can reach.
