Australia in January 2016: themes from the sky
These are broad themes for Australia in January 2016, read from the chart cast when the Sun entered Mesha, from the country's founding chart and from any eclipse in the month. They describe tendencies in public life, not fixed events.
Mundane readings here stay with themes and timing windows. They say nothing about any public figure and do not try to name particular events.
The year chart (Mesha Sankranti)
- Cast for
- Lagna
- Tula (Libra)
- Lord of the year chart
- Shukra (Venus) in house 8
The solar year began on 14 April 2015, when the Sun entered Mesha. In the chart cast for that moment at Canberra, Libra was rising.
Venus rules the rising sign and so sets the tone of the year's chart. It stands in the 8th house, which keeps shared resources, taxes, insurance and sudden shifts in public finances in focus through the year.
Planets that stand out
Saturn in the 2nd house brings slow, patient work, tighter budgets and some delays to national wealth, reserves, food supply and the tone of public speech.
Moon in the 4th house brings shifting public mood and a focus on everyday needs to land, housing, farming, the season's weather and the mood at home.
Sun in the 7th house brings attention from the authorities and a push for order to foreign relations, treaties and trading partners.
Mars in the 7th house brings drive, quick decisions and some heat in debate to foreign relations, treaties and trading partners.
Mercury in the 7th house brings busy talks, paperwork and brisk trade to foreign relations, treaties and trading partners.
Jupiter in the 10th house brings growth, support and wider opportunity to governance, institutions and the country's standing in the world.
