Australia in 2016: themes from the sky
These are broad themes for Australia through 2016, read the way mundane astrology reads a nation: from the chart cast when the Sun enters Mesha each year, from the country's founding chart and from the year's eclipses. They describe tendencies in public life, not fixed events.
Mundane readings here stay with themes and timing windows. They say nothing about any public figure and do not try to name particular events.
The year chart (Mesha Sankranti)
- Cast for
- Lagna
- Makara (Capricorn)
- Lord of the year chart
- Shani (Saturn) in house 11
The solar year began on 14 April 2016, when the Sun entered Mesha. In the chart cast for that moment at Canberra, Capricorn was rising.
Saturn rules the rising sign and so sets the tone of the year's chart. It stands in the 11th house, which keeps lawmaking, alliances, gains and shared hopes in focus through the year.
